GBM Mobile is licensed on a per mobile device basis. Optional web server support products
including GBM Mobile Manger for Exponare and GBM Enterprise Manager, are normally licensed on a per web server basis.
Refer to the GBM Mobile Product Overview for more information on software modules.
Regualar Edition
This edition includes GBM Mobile for installation on the mobile device, Mobile
Manager for Windows for operation on a support PC and the GBM Mobile Merge plug-in for
operation within MapInfo Professional.
The Regular Edition delivers all the functionally needed to customise mobile device
operation for an individual field program, transfer data to and from the mobile device
and to carry out field operations.
From Version 3, the regular edition is packaged with all features of the V2.51
Extended Edition, inluding Edit Tracking. Edit Tracking is particularly useful for larger
installations where several field operators are working concurrently on the same GIS data.
The Regular Edtion also includes licensing for the GBM Mobile Merge plug-in for
MapInfo Professional. When operated with the edit time-stamping feature of GBM Mobile,
Mobile Merge automates the integration of field edits into the master data set.
Custom Editions
As utililties for building custom data entry forms and merging data into MapInfo format GIS
files are included in the Regular Edition, very few customers require customisation services.
Custom editions can be developed to directly integrate mobile operations with specific
server-side business processes or databases.
GBM Mobile Manager for Exponare and GBM Enterprise Manager
These extension allows remote operators to transfer data between a PDA and a central server
via an intranet or the internet.
Web server implementations provide similar functionality to the Mobile Manager
for Windows system that is packaged with each GBM Mobile license, but in an IT environment
that is more suited to large scale enterprise deployment.
These optional extensions are normally licensed on a per web server or per processor basis. Web server
licenses are additional to the regular GBM Mobile licenses required for each mobile device.
