GeoBasemap MapLinker technology supports context sensitive hot-linking between
different computer programs. It is especially valuable where related information or
processes are spread across a suite of computer programs. Customers use MapLinker to
integrate these computer programs into a unified processing web.
Active hot-linking can dramatically improve operator productivity. MapLinker
integration can normally be implemented for a fraction of the cost of duplicating
functionality across a suite of computer programs.
The core GBM Linker technology operates as an integration hub that receives instructions
from any computer program and in turn automates operations in another program. Each client
program is linked into this hub via a plug-in that understands how to send instructions
to that program.
MapLinker is supplied with pre-developed plug-ins for the MapInfo Professional GIS,
Microsoft Office applications and a number of other commercial systems. Either Exa-Min
or customers can easily tailor plug-ins for other applications through the Software
Developers Kit.
GeoBasemap MapLinker is available for installation with MapInfo Professional or
MapInfo Run-Time systems (Version 4.5 of later). The core GBM Linker technology can also
be deployed with custom GIS solutions or in applications that do not employ GIS technology.
